Did you know that entrance fees to Shenandoah National Park are waived to celebrate and honor select important dates during the year?

Here’s how to explore the great outdoors for free!

On the following five days in 2019, the U.S. National Park Service will offer free admission to everyone. These “fee-free” days represent a special opportunity for visitors to celebrate some our park’s important moments and history.

  • January 21: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • April 20: First Day of National Park Week/National Junior Ranger Day
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 28: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

Additionally, on June 15th, Shenandoah National Park will waive entrance fees for its neighbors — defined as residents living in the following counties that adjoin the park: Albemarle, Augusta, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, and Warren.

Please note that the entrance fee waiver for the fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping or special tours.
